Counselling in schools
I have been counselling children since 1998. As a headteacher
I felt that many children might benefit from counselling, but few suitably
qualified counsellors were available. As a school counsellor, I have developed
ways to liaise effectively with both school staff and parents while holding
confidentiality for my clients.
I can offer help for individuals or groups of children who:
- act out their distress aggressively
- are withdrawn or anxious
- have been bullied or bully others
- have been bereaved
- are distressed by family breakdown
- suffer from sleep problems
I can offer help to adults who:
- support children who have emotional difficulties
- feel stressed
- need to discuss issues related to their work in a confidential setting
I can help people who know
why they are distressed as well as those who are confused by feelings they
do not understand or cannot explain. My work is regularly supervised by an
experienced counselling supervisor, in accordance with the BACP Ethical
Framework,
